Huawei’s Connect 2025 keynote scheduled the Ascend 960 for the fourth quarter of 2027 and said it would double the 950 generation’s compute, memory capacity, memory bandwidth, and interconnect ports, with vendor peaks of 2 PFLOPS in FP8 and 4 PFLOPS in FP4. Those peaks are not FP16, so the FP16 field is blank, and a single memory figure is omitted because the 950PR and 950DT were described differently. 8fabs’ September 2026 report tracks a later schedule update; this record keeps the keynote figures separate from that retelling.
Context:Connect 2025 described the 960 as double the 950 generation and quoted FP8 and FP4 peaks. A single memory figure is omitted because the two 950 packages were not given the same capacity.
